There are Licensed Home Inspectors, Certified Professional Inspectors, and Certified Master Inspectors.
Licensed Home Inspectors: Must pass the state licensing exam and have 200 hours of pre-licensing education. They must take 12 hours of continuing education annually.
Certified Professional Inspectors: Must be licensed home inspectors, must take the 12 hours of state mandated continuing education and an additional 24 hours annually, and are required to pass the Certified Professional Inspectors exam every three years. Every inspector that works at Legacy Home Inspections is required to maintain this certification at a minimum.
Certified Master Inspectors: Must be licensed home inspectors, may be Certified Professional Inspectors, must adhere to the industry’s toughest code of ethics, pass routine background checks, have been in business a minimum of three years, and completed 1,000 paid inspections and/or hours of continuing education.
